Our Story: From Hospitality to Handlebars

Society Cycles is the brainchild of owner Alan Harbisher. Alan didn't start in the cycling industry; he spent years at the management level in some of Edinburgh's top hotels.

This background instilled a deep, non-negotiable principle that is now the heart of our business: exceptional customer experience.

Alan's transition began with his own love of cycling. After leaving the fast pace of the hospitality industry, he spent time working in a local bike shop, solidifying his passion and practical knowledge. Recognizing the need for a truly local, service-led cycling hub in Morningside, he opened Society Cycles.
